I've been going to About Smiles for about 7 years and they never disappoint! Dr. Lauren is always sweet and professional and the staff always make me feel welcome. Going to the dentist usually gives me anxiety (because, you know, needles and metal objects IN MY FACE) but, this place is by far the best dental office I've ever visited. Everyone is kind, patient, and they always take good care of me. I trust this dentist and I will continue to come here when any dental need arises.
I've been a patient here since 2019.. I hate dentists ... I let staff know bout my fear of being there and getting injections... I have never been so comfortable in a dentist office til now.. I'm glad I found them.. I no longer feel scared they are so gentle .. they listen and if you need help paying they will help you with payment plans

My crown came off later in the day on Friday before the thanksgiving break. I called and Crystal said to come right in and they would work me in even though they were closing soon. Dr. Lauren and April took wonderful care of the me and got my crown put back on so I didn't have to be uncomfortable the entire weekend. Thanks so much for the great care!!!

If you’re looking for a place with friendly and knowledgeable staff, GO HERE! I transferred my dental records here from another dentist office that didn’t seem to really know what was going on. The ladies at the front staff were extremely nice a friendly. They were able to tell me exactly what I needed from my previous dental office as well as from my obgyn (since I’m currently pregnant). April was so awesome! I absolutely loved her. She was friendly and personable. Not only that, but she already knew what was going on. She took the time to find out about me before I got into the dental chair. Dr. Siegert was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to me. Some things, other dentists never took the time to explain, such as why my teeth aren’t so white despite the fact that I don’t smoke nor drink much coffee. They were also able to get me in on days that work best for me, which I truly appreciate since I have a million appointments. I’m so happy I decided to switch and go with this dental office. This will definitely be my go-to for dental needs!

And I never thought I would spend that kind of money on myself (cosmetically) But I trust these people at About Smiles (Dr. Hoover and Dr. Lauren) with my teeth, my smile, everything I owe to them they're great !! The people are always so friendly and the service is top notch. They always make me feel so welcomed and have truly turned the tide from me hating to go to the dentist. I’ve seen vast improvement in my dental hygiene and I credit it to this office - without their expertise and instruction, I wouldn’t be taking care of myself the same way. Even when I moved to San Antonio, I still went to About Smiles in Round Rock for my cleanings because when you find a home, you stay there. Thankful for everyone in this office and their amazing customer service!
Have Had really great experiences from the time I was checked in by the kind and charismatic Bianca to the hygienist Chloe who took good care of me and even did a deep clean same day to Dr Lane who did my initial exam and Dr Herman who did a couple of fillings on me. The owner Dr Hoover is very kind and made sure to say hello and make me feel welcome. I highly recommend this office.

Her team was great and she did a great job explaining everything that she was doing and listening to what I had to say. Becky made me feel right at home and was very gentle during my cleaning. She kept me calm during all of my appointment and answered all of my questions. After seeing many different dentists I can say that Dr. Lauren and her team are the best I have seen and I will continue to go there and would highly recommend them to anyone. Never been to a dentist where it was literally a pain-feee experience. . . sFOR 2 crowns! Dr. Hoover is a magician. My only criticism, is that the other dentist in her office is a very attractive male, and all of a sudden my wife has been getting mysterious toothaches in a weekly basis.

My 12 year old daughter was so nervous for her appointment she hates going to the dentist. We’ve moved and she needed a visit so we searched for a local practice. Alexis was great with getting us scheduled and explaining everything and when we got started Becky immediately made us feel so comfortable. We had a full exam, xrays and her cleaning and we needed a few fillings so we got those done too. When we left my daughter felt great and told her dad she’s not scared of the dentist anymore and she has a friend named Becky there now! Becky you truly have a passion for what you’re doing and your patients can feel it. Thank you for a great appointment and for taking such great care of my kiddo!! I absolutely would recommend this office.
Becky my dental hygienist was absolutely amazing. Actually made going to the dentist fun! This was my first time visiting a dentist in about 6-7 years. I had a lot of apprehension after having my wisdom teeth out and was dreading bad news for it being so long but it honestly wasn’t. They make you feel relaxed about everything and I know I will be coming back for 6mo-1year cleanings moving forward!

I was recommended to come here from a friend and she’s always right - this was no different. I love these guys!!! I’m going through a cracked tooth (soooo painful!) and I was floored by how well they are taking care of me so that I can get it extracted and replaced with a passable fake tooth within days. I couldn’t believe how well this has gone considering the severity of what’s wrong. There is a reason they are rated so highly!!! I actually look forward to going in there; everyone is so personable. My only suggestion would be to not societal pressure and new restrictions effect dispensing the strength and/or the amount of pain medication a particular problem would normally require. I personally don’t take medicine of any kind unless I really need it; it sucks that some abusers have changed the way everyone has to deal with pain in the US. But this is a bigger issue than my amazing dental office and I can hardly blame them for being a bit cautious. It’s a systemic issue. I’m being taken care of with some meds and I’ll get through this with their amazing support. I would (and will!) recommend this place to anyone. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!! And this review is actually helping support Austin’s animal shelter. It cannot possibly get any better than About Smiles. 💚💚💚💚💚💚
I can't say enough good things about this office. I needed quite a bit of work done especially on my bottom teeth. It got to the point I couldn't even chew anymore and with a new baby things get expensive fast. Other dentist offices were not willing to work with me at all, but About Smiles was able to work with me to be able to get the work done that I so desperately needed. Not to mention the nicest staff I've ever met in my life. Thank you so much About Smiles. My family and I will now be life long clients.

I went to About Smiles after a terrible experience at Brident. I saw them since they are near my doctors office and then saw a commercial. I have always gone to smaller practices so I felt very at home here. Brident was making it hard to get my appointment going by not sending over my X-rays and the staff at About Smiles we're kind enough to take a few so we could at least get my appointment started and come up with a plan. I spend a lot of money on dental work because I have terrible teeth and they made me feel at ease about the phases we would go through for the treatment I needed and didn't overwhelm me. Dental work is an anxiety for me but I feel 100% comfortable in their chair and trust them.

This place is absolutely fantastic! I had jaw pain and tooth pain and I went in via recommendation because the dentist I had gone to before was a total tool. But Dr. Hagan was such a sweetheart! She diagnosed the problem. I had a wisdom tooth trying to come in and was causing the pain I was having. She pulled the tooth and was very sweet during the procedure, she was not stern or anything, with Dr. Hagan it was all sugar and honey when it came to her attitude. I will for sure be back to this location for my check up! All the staff and dental assistants were very sweet as well 5 stars isn’t enough to rate this place!

He is knowledgeable, and thorough and the bed side manner I received is better than I could have hoped for somebody who does not have ample dental coverage and tends to avoid dental care. This is re my first appointment. I Received a phone call message and text reminding me of appt., and rec'd call from the dental hygienist that would be taking care of me the afternoon before my visit to introduce herself to me and we went over what was expected (very cool). Upon arriving we went over paperwork. Going into room, my hygienist was thorough and explained what she observed (after a few x-rays). After the cleaning, my dentist came in and explained findings and gave alternatives. We started plans for a "partial" to be done, right afterwards. Everyone was very nice and made my visit a good experience.

Great and friendly staff! I had a dental emergency (broken tooth) and they were able to get me in quickly, and patch me up in the same visit. I’m fairly certain they worked through their lunch hour to fit me in. This was my first visit, but they are going to be my permanent dentist.
We had the pleasure of seeing Dr Hagan, she was absolutely amazing. Our 3 week old got her lip & tongue tie removed and Dr Hagan was so sweet the entire time she made sure we understood the procedure and any questions were answered. She cleared any doubt we had. She explained all after care very well she made sure before we left the office we understood everything that happened and what was going to happen along with what can happen. We absolutely loved and felt so welcome by everyone including the ones that didn’t attend us. Alexis , Jessica and Dr Hagan were so very sweet and friendly. The Round Rock location is the best Dentistry that we have visited.
Dr. Hoover and the other folks in this office are all very caring and competent. They pay attention to your whole mouth and provide outstanding explanations.

Dr. Gretchen Hoover is amazing. She is really sweet, funny, and goes above and beyond for customer care. Her magic touch is the soothing care she gives when giving you a shot (in the mouth!). She jiggles your cheek and talks you through it, making the anxiety so much less. Also, the receptionist, Starr, is great. Every single time I have called this office, it has been met with ease and kindness. I greatly appreciate the customer care they put into their work. Going to the dentist still sucks, but at least I know I'm going to be treated like a human :)

I've been going to another Austin area dentist for 18+ years and thought I was getting top care. Having re-located from Lakeway to South Austin I sought care from About Smiles. Not only have they taken great care of me but also provided modern and progressive care for a middle aged person with aging dental issues. Great organization across the board in all capacities including; insurance guidance, cleaning, restoration and a plan for overall best care. I highly recommend About Smiles!

About Smiles in Round Rock is a great dental practice on Gattis School Blvd. The front waiting room is very clean, has comfortable seating with a great color TV, they even have an aquarium and you can watch all the fishes swim to you and they think that you're going to feed them, it's so funny. Alexia will give you a warm welcome, April will get you set up to see Dr. Anne Hagan who will help you with whatever your teeth require. Becky will clean and make your teeth sparkle. Jessica will help you with the billing of insurance if you have it or just take your payment. Go visit and meet the wonderful people. Thanks to Alexia, Jessica, April, Becky, and Dr. Anne for taking good care of me. I have a treatment plan to keep my teeth sparkling clean. And definitely try the Zoom whitening, definitely can make a difference in your smile and give you more confidence. I definitely recommend this office for your dental needs.

OMGGGG.... let me start by saying I love this place! I go to the one in South Austin. Dr. Hoover and her staff are the greatest! The office is nice and clean as well as the tools that are used. I know this because I know the back end and behind the scenes of a dental office. I myself, years ago, worked as a dental assistant...(SO I KNOOOOW HOW THINGS SHOULD FLOW). I had given up on trying to find a dental office due to the lack of concern and the cleanliness of the offices that I had visited. Then I found Dr. Hoover by chance. Dr. Hoover is so down-to-earth and takes her time explaining your dental plan. Me being former assistant. I already knew what my plan would be. However, Dr Hoover suggested a better way of doing my treatment plan. She even allowed me to view updated equipment. Love this Lady😘 2nd... Dawn the hygienist!!! SMH...JUST WOW!!There are no words to explain my thoughts for her. I promise you in a former life she had to be my best friend or my sister! Dawn is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and cleaned the hell outta my teeth....lol. When I was done...everytime I opened my mouth. I saw that shine sparkles you see on the cartoons. I think i even heard the"BLINNNGG" with the sparkles..😂😂😂....by nature I'm silly but u get what I'm saying. Dawn even made extra time to show me how to brush my braces correctly. I'm soooo happy I found them! Oh....before I sign off. I wanted to share this about the up front staff. A man came in with it his 7 month old baby who was awake. So of course with the baby being awake. He would need some type of assistants. The front staff all rallies to hold the baby as he completed his procedure. I'm not saying that this is a daycare for you to bring your kids and they will watch your children. I'm sure this was a by chance situation. I'm just giving another example of how friendly and nice this facility is. I could go on and on but I know you guys are tired of this long post. Just go try them for yourself you will not be disappointed I promise. signed... I FINALLY FOUND A DENTIST!!!
Dr. Hagan and her staff are amazing. She is extremely gentle (I’m a baby about numbing shots) and a perfectionist. I hated the way my front teeth looked due to stains, and she completely transformed my smile. The office is great with working with you and your schedule, and no one makes you feel rushed or not valued. I’ve even had to bring my newborn in due to sitter issues, and the accommodated me (thank you April for your help). If you need a dental office that isn’t trying to scam you on money, and preforms work you actually need while taking care of any wants you’d like this is the place for you. Also, ask them about their amazing referral system.

I'm so thankful I found this office! After not having a cleaning in seven (yes, SEVEN) years, they did a phenomenal job getting me examined, cleaned, and treated. They were also able to pull a troublesome wisdom tooth on the spot for me a few months later when it decided it was ready to make its (painful) appearance. Dr. Lane is simply outstanding at what he does. I don't think I've ever met a dentist who is as efficient and precise as he is; he also has a great sense of humor and exudes hospitality. Every hygienist I've seen has also been personable, thorough, and knowledgeable. I definitely plan on sticking with this office for many more years to come!

I'm new to Austin and hadn't found a dentist yet when About smiles was recommended to me. I only needed to have my teeth cleaned so I made an appointment. Thinking that if it didn't work out I can always find another dentist. Well things did work out and I've found a new dental home and won't be going anywhere else. What a wonderful friendly staff. Everyone from the receptionist to the dentist was friendly, knowledgeable and highly professional. I'll be going back.

About Smiles is like family to me at this point. I have had a lot of issues with my teeth and with previous work. They have always been so welcoming and kind! The office staff is awesome! They help answer all my questions and work around my crazy schedule to make my next appointments. I was never a fan of going to the dentist with all the problems I’ve had but Dr. Hoover made me feel extremely comfortable. She walked me through what she was going to do during the visit and then we made a treatment plan to get my teeth in the best condition they’ve ever been in. Going to the dentist is a nightmare in general. I'm new to the area and decided to give this office a try. They are all so welcoming and made me feel right at home. Oddly enough I am looking forward to my next appointment to get things taken care of.
Best, most thorough, Dentist I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Dr. Hoover did a complete workup on my teeth, gums, mouth. Gave valuable advice to me (starting Chemo) - I recommend Gretchen Hoover and her entire office staff to everyone in Round Rock, Pflugerville, and it's worth the drive from Austin.
I arrived for my appointment to replace some old fillings, clutching a foam stress ball. When Dr. Lane saw this, he asked if I had anxiety about dental procedures. In a word, YES. He offered me nitrous oxide. I’m in my 50s and no dentist has ever suggested this to me, so I have been accustomed to white-knuckling my way through fillings. Thanks to the nitrous and cranking up the volume on the Pandora 80s Alternative Hits station, I was able to unclench my muscles and let Dr Lane and Bianca finish replacing the fillings in 4 teeth. I appreciated their kindness and professionalism, and will recommend the About Smiles practice to everyone in the area.

I avoided going to the dentist based on a bad experience (was not fully numb when procedures were done). I was referred to this office and the X-ray tech, hygienist, Dr. Hoover & Cathy were great. This was my first pain free dentist visit in a while. I am glad I have finally found a dental office where I do not feel nervous to get some work done, and I am actually given tips about cavity prevention. If anyone received a bill saying it is 90 days old, call the office they will advise you that it was a billing glitch. I would have to agree with the rest of the post below, the staff is amazing. This review is pretty much about the billing. With a dual ins plan, I like to know they everyone will get it correct. After speaking with someone in regards to a strange letter received, I feel 100% better knowing this issue will work itself out. It was not the office, it was the commercial ins battling over who was primary. Payment was never received, and the office was very patient in explaining everything to me and what is expected from the insurances. I rate them a 5 and appreciate all info while this is being resolved.
I am not from Austin TX, however I moved here about a year ago and it is hard to find a good dentist office. So I happened to find About Smiles Family & Cosmetic Dentistry down came my routine cleaning. As soon as I step into the office the staff was friendly,professional and very pleasing. All the staff and to include the Dr. genuinely care about the patients. I have had two visits and I have not had any issues, in fact they have actually taken care of my needs. Overall I am very pleased and satisfied with the service they provide. They definitely know how to conduct business keeping the patients needs as a priority. I absolutely recommend this office and I will keep them as my head dentist. Best dental office I have been and best service I have received.
Best dentist visit I have ever had! All the employees were very friendly and explained everything in detail. There was no wait time, I was taken in for X-rays, got my cleaning and the Doctor came in and saw me with no wait time in between. Absolutely the best Dentist Professionals i have ever found. I broke a tooth this morning and had to scramble to find a Dentist office that would take my insurance and get me in today to surgically extract the root and patch me up. From the moment i walked into their door I felt that every staff member their complete understood what i needed and they were going to make sure to squeeze me into their busy day. The consult was quick because the Dentist listened to what i needed and wanted. She then quickly told me all my other options without "imposing" all the other options. Together we came up with a good course of actions to take today, and for the future of my dental care. The extraction was done with out any complications and with top notch bedside manner. After the surgical extraction i told the wife "sweet heart, meet our new family dentist." We made appointments for the whole family as we have decided About Smiles are the kinda folks we can trust to take care of us as if we were members of their family.

Dr. Gretchen Hoover, Kathy and Connie have been taking care of me and my family for a several years. I always feel listened to and taken care of. Gretchen and Kathy are super gentle and they work with me when I feel anxious without ever making me feel bad about my anxiety. On top of that, the dental work is excellent, the office is lovely and the rest of the staff are super professional. I can't recommend them enough.

Dr. Hoover is one of the best dentists I have ever had. She really pays close attention to detail and works with you to fix whatever is wrong. Crystal the hygienist is very thorough and a definite type A. She helps me maintain my gums as best as possible and explains things as she goes. I moved out of Austin past Oak Hill and I will continue to drive this long distance to About Smiles because of the great people.

The dentist is never thought of as a great place to go. However, it is a necessary evil in life that is part of adulting. I'm inspired to write this review because this dentist's office was actually a pleasant experience, and I was blown away by the quality of my experience. I had to go in because I had a tooth infection, and I ended up getting that tooth pulled plus a wisdom tooth on the same day. They got me in right away, and I noticed that the office was lovely and that you can drink coffee or tea while you wait. (If you're worried about your breath, they have mouthwash in the bathroom!) ;-) In the dentist's chair, I prepared myself for the torturous nightmare to begin. It never did. Surprisingly, they offered me sunglasses and a blanket. I felt like I was in a sci-fi movie with all the high-tech equipment. Dr. Nguyen and his assistant made me feel at ease, and he even joked that he was going to whisper my teeth out of my mouth! They did manage to extract the molar and a wisdom tooth with very minimal pain. I did not even need to take painkillers afterwards, which was shocking! Crystal, the hygienist, got my teeth sparkling clean. I could tell she was passionate about what she does.
Had an opportunity to visit this dentist office because of a cracked tooth emergency. Called four other dentist offices in the Round Rock area with no response or recordings. It was the Monday before Christmas and the office in Austin referred me to the Round Rock office and I got an appointment at 11 a.m. The dentist pulled my cracked tooth and saved my Chrismas holiday with my family. Professional staff and super friendly. Can't praise them enough☺
Not one of my favorite places to have to go to. But the people here are awesome. I needed to have my first crown put in. They made me feel as comfortable as possible. I even got to watch them design the crown on the computer and watch it getting made in house. I highly recommend coming here!

Today, I had my first visit with About Smiles. I'm new to Austin but I think I've already found my dentist! I came in today for a cleaning, to get some cavities filled. Dr. Mills and the whole staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. They informed me of what they were doing at every step and why they were doing it. I strongly believe that in the absence of information people often fear the worst. That's especially true for me when I visit the dentist. There are so many questions that I've had for years that they explained today without my asking.

I cannot describe the gratitude I have towards Dr. Hughes and his staff! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with professionalism and friendliness! He not only did a spectacular emergency root canal and crown procedure but he made sure that I was as pain free as possible. The front desk staff was willing to help with my insurance and was informative at every turn with my dental decision making. An all around great experience and will be returning.
I just had a root canal on a "hot" molar way in the back. Dr. Kahlden took care of it in two appointments. It wasn't pleasant, but what root canal is? He did a great job. Seemed to be very thorough.
This dentist is absolutley amazing. The entire staff is extremely friendly. There doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover.... I get to see the same smiling faces every time I go. They take the time to ask about my family, including our interests. They have state of the art technology. I get to see what the doctor sees. Crowns are done in ONE visit. No more multiple visits and dealing with temporary crowns etc. I hated the dentist... the wait time does not seem any different then any other dr. office. I would strongly recommend giving this office a try!
My experience here with Dr Hoover was exactly what I was looking for when choosing a Dentist office. Dr. Hoover, her hygienist, and her nurses all had terrific bed side manner. Her staff was friendly from the day I became a patient there and ever since. I now drive over 45 minutes to her office because of the kindness and excellent service I am given as a patient. I highly recommend this office.
I was extremely nervous about getting dental work done, but Dr. Hoover was able to get me through it... I'd like to say I was at ease, but that would be a lie. I'm probably never going to be at ease with metal pokey things and drills in my mouth. I love that they were able to show me the spots they were working on with the camera on a TV screen and the full explanation of her processes, including the why. The insurance lady, Connie, was a true professional. I was given an accurate estimate and never felt like I was getting the run around. I got an appointment on a Saturday, so didn't even miss a day of work. There's really no excuse for me to not go to the dentist now. I will be back in 6 months :)
Despite having to have a re-do on a route canal by a different dentist, my experience was great. They got me in the very next day after calling in with a toothache. The staff was the best I've experienced in a long time & Dr. Hughes took great care of me.
Dr. Hoover is the BEST dentist I could ever have. The first time I saw her I literally was shaking with fear. He COMPLETELY, made me feel at ease, relaxed and now I'm calm if I have to go see her. Also, best of all, she's given me something I hadn't had in YEARS...a BEAUTIFUL Smile. I love her for that !!!!! Also, the staff is warm and very attentive .
I've been seeing Dr. Hoover for over a year now and she's FANTASTIC. I'm absolutely terrified of dental work but I've had nothing but stellar experiences here and Dr. Hoover works with plenty of patients who have my same fear and she strives to create a pain-free, pleasant, relaxing experience. My most recent experience is as follow: I had 5 cavities. I do not do well with dental work. Dr. Hoover offers "sleep dentistry" which entails providing the patient with a soothing sleep agent and laughing gas so that they are unaware of the work being done. We scheduled a time for me to come in and have all 5 filled and do a periodontal cleaning while I was knocked out. The day arrives and I show up and am handed a little blue pill. Immediately, my anxiety kicks in and I start freaking out. The staff was so lovely and calming and sweet, but I panicked and ran. Yep, I left. Even though it was a 2+ hr appointment that had been blocked off for me. Was I mistreated? Was I overcharged? Was I made to feel humiliated? No. They rescheduled me for a week later and even got me the sleeping pill prescription so I could take it the night before to begin relaxing then and wake up already in a better state of mind. When I arrived for my 2nd appointment, everyone was so kind and warm and no-one made me feel like crap for what had happened the week before. The whole procedure went off without a hitch. Dr. Hoover is a gem of a human being - she's all smiles, super warm, listens to your fears/concerns, tells it straight. I felt no pain during my procedure, they let me listen to my iPod and had the TV showing How I Met Your Mother. My numbness wore off within a few hours and I felt right as rain. If you have any fears about dental work - Dr. Hoover is the dentist for you. A staff of really sweet, warm people works at the office and they are all willing to work with you to make things happen.
After going to the same dentist for 20 years in Houston, then moving to Austin, I had trouble finding a dentist I could trust. I have had a couple of bad experiences at different dentists around Austin, but when I visited Dr. Hoover's office all of my worries were put to rest. It is a nice, clean office, with updated equipment. The staff is very professional and Dr. Hoover is very friendly. They will not try to talk you into anything you don't need, and want your experience to be as positive as possible. The hygenists are very gentle during cleaning, and Dr. Hoover is gentle during the exam as well. Glad I finally found a good dentist in Austin!!

Bought the groupon for an exam, X-rays, and cleaning. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I liked the digital X-rays and picture that were shown to me immediately on the screen to discuss my treatment plan. Saturday hours are also great for those of us that work M-F. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars from me was because the have a rather small waiting room.
I went here for a cleaning since I got a groupon, and I was super impressed. It's a busy place, but I waited no more than 2 minutes before I was ushered back into a private room for my cleaning. I opted out of x-rays and went for just the cleaning. LINDA was my hygienist, and she was AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend asking for her. She's had many years of experience and it shows in her gentle, yet detailed work. She took plenty of time to hand-clean my teeth (didn't use the pesky loud ultrasonic doodad) and was very thorough. She was pleasant to talk to, and very knowledgable. The doctor came in later to check on the work and they took detailed pictures of my teeth to show me up on a screen which showed my old metal fillings from when I was a kid. They suggested I eventually replace them (metal not healthy, yet they were still solid), but I never felt pressured to do this. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or pressured into services I couldn't afford/need. I will definitely return.
After two years still loving to go to About Smiles . I enjoyed April job and cheerful.

Going to the dentist usually gives me anxiety (because, you know, needles and metal objects IN MY FACE) but, this place is by far the best dental office I've ever visited. Everyone is kind, patient, and they always take good care of me. I trust this dentist and I will continue to come here when any dental need arises.

If you’re looking for a place with friendly and knowledgeable staff, GO HERE! I transferred my dental records here from another dentist office that didn’t seem to really know what was going on. The ladies at the front staff were extremely nice a friendly. They were able to tell me exactly what I needed from my previous dental office as well as from my obgyn (since I’m currently pregnant). April was so awesome! I absolutely loved her. She was friendly and personable. Not only that, but she already knew what was going on. She took the time to find out about me before I got into the dental chair. Dr. Siegert was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to me. Some things, other dentists never took the time to explain, such as why my teeth aren’t so white despite the fact that I don’t smoke nor drink much coffee. They were also able to get me in on days that work best for me, which I truly appreciate since I have a million appointments. I’m so happy I decided to switch and go with this dental office. This will definitely be my go-to for dental needs!

The people are always so friendly and the service is top notch. They always make me feel so welcomed and have truly turned the tide from me hating to go to the dentist. I’ve seen vast improvement in my dental hygiene and I credit it to this office - without their expertise and instruction, I wouldn’t be taking care of myself the same way. Even when I moved to San Antonio, I still went to About Smiles in Round Rock for my cleanings because when you find a home, you stay there. Have Had really great experiences from the time I was checked in by the kind and charismatic Bianca to the hygienist Chloe who took good care of me and even did a deep clean same day to Dr Lane who did my initial exam and Dr Herman who did a couple of fillings on me. Her team was great and she did a great job explaining everything that she was doing and listening to what I had to say. Becky made me feel right at home and was very gentle during my cleaning. Never been to a dentist where it was literally a pain-feee experience. . . sFOR 2 crowns! Dr. Hoover is a magician. My only criticism, is that the other dentist in her office is a very attractive male, and all of a sudden my wife has been getting mysterious toothaches in a weekly basis.

My 12 year old daughter was so nervous for her appointment she hates going to the dentist. We’ve moved and she needed a visit so we searched for a local practice. Alexis was great with getting us scheduled and explaining everything and when we got started Becky immediately made us feel so comfortable. We had a full exam, xrays and her cleaning and we needed a few fillings so we got those done too. When we left my daughter felt great and told her dad she’s not scared of the dentist anymore and she has a friend named Becky there now! Becky you truly have a passion for what you’re doing and your patients can feel it. Thank you for a great appointment and for taking such great care of my kiddo!! I absolutely would recommend this office.
Becky my dental hygienist was absolutely amazing. Actually made going to the dentist fun! This was my first time visiting a dentist in about 6-7 years. I had a lot of apprehension after having my wisdom teeth out and was dreading bad news for it being so long but it honestly wasn’t. They make you feel relaxed about everything and I know I will be coming back for 6mo-1year cleanings moving forward!

I was recommended to come here from a friend and she’s always right - this was no different. I love these guys!!! I’m going through a cracked tooth (soooo painful!) and I was floored by how well they are taking care of me so that I can get it extracted and replaced with a passable fake tooth within days. I couldn’t believe how well this has gone considering the severity of what’s wrong. There is a reason they are rated so highly!!! I actually look forward to going in there; everyone is so personable. My only suggestion would be to not societal pressure and new restrictions effect dispensing the strength and/or the amount of pain medication a particular problem would normally require. I personally don’t take medicine of any kind unless I really need it; it sucks that some abusers have changed the way everyone has to deal with pain in the US. But this is a bigger issue than my amazing dental office and I can hardly blame them for being a bit cautious. It’s a systemic issue. I’m being taken care of with some meds and I’ll get through this with their amazing support. I would (and will!) recommend this place to anyone. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!! And this review is actually helping support Austin’s animal shelter. It cannot possibly get any better than About Smiles. 💚💚💚💚💚💚
I can't say enough good things about this office. I needed quite a bit of work done especially on my bottom teeth. It got to the point I couldn't even chew anymore and with a new baby things get expensive fast. Other dentist offices were not willing to work with me at all, but About Smiles was able to work with me to be able to get the work done that I so desperately needed. Not to mention the nicest staff I've ever met in my life. Thank you so much About Smiles. My family and I will now be life long clients.

I went to About Smiles after a terrible experience at Brident. I saw them since they are near my doctors office and then saw a commercial. I have always gone to smaller practices so I felt very at home here. Brident was making it hard to get my appointment going by not sending over my X-rays and the staff at About Smiles we're kind enough to take a few so we could at least get my appointment started and come up with a plan. I spend a lot of money on dental work because I have terrible teeth and they made me feel at ease about the phases we would go through for the treatment I needed and didn't overwhelm me. Dental work is an anxiety for me but I feel 100% comfortable in their chair and trust them.

This place is absolutely fantastic! I had jaw pain and tooth pain and I went in via recommendation because the dentist I had gone to before was a total tool. But Dr. Hagan was such a sweetheart! She diagnosed the problem. I had a wisdom tooth trying to come in and was causing the pain I was having. She pulled the tooth and was very sweet during the procedure, she was not stern or anything, with Dr. Hagan it was all sugar and honey when it came to her attitude. I will for sure be back to this location for my check up! All the staff and dental assistants were very sweet as well 5 stars isn’t enough to rate this place!

He is knowledgeable, and thorough and the bed side manner I received is better than I could have hoped for somebody who does not have ample dental coverage and tends to avoid dental care. Their Loyalty Program was perfect for me and my circumstances. My husband has an upcoming appointment, my son will have an upcoming appointment. This is re my first appointment. I Received a phone call message and text reminding me of appt., and rec'd call from the dental hygienist that would be taking care of me the afternoon before my visit to introduce herself to me and we went over what was expected (very cool). Upon arriving we went over paperwork. Going into room, my hygienist was thorough and explained what she observed (after a few x-rays). After the cleaning, my dentist came in and explained findings and gave alternatives. We started plans for a "partial" to be done, right afterwards. Everyone was very nice and made my visit a good experience.

Great and friendly staff! I had a dental emergency (broken tooth) and they were able to get me in quickly, and patch me up in the same visit. I’m fairly certain they worked through their lunch hour to fit me in. This was my first visit, but they are going to be my permanent dentist.
We had the pleasure of seeing Dr Hagan, she was absolutely amazing. Our 3 week old got her lip & tongue tie removed and Dr Hagan was so sweet the entire time she made sure we understood the procedure and any questions were answered. She cleared any doubt we had. She explained all after care very well she made sure before we left the office we understood everything that happened and what was going to happen along with what can happen. We absolutely loved and felt so welcome by everyone including the ones that didn’t attend us. Alexis , Jessica and Dr Hagan were so very sweet and friendly. The Round Rock location is the best Dentistry that we have visited.

Dr. Gretchen Hoover is amazing. She is really sweet, funny, and goes above and beyond for customer care. Her magic touch is the soothing care she gives when giving you a shot (in the mouth!). She jiggles your cheek and talks you through it, making the anxiety so much less. Also, the receptionist, Starr, is great. Every single time I have called this office, it has been met with ease and kindness. I greatly appreciate the customer care they put into their work. Going to the dentist still sucks, but at least I know I'm going to be treated like a human :)

Not only have they taken great care of me but also provided modern and progressive care for a middle aged person with aging dental issues. About Smiles in Round Rock is a great dental practice on Gattis School Blvd. The front waiting room is very clean, has comfortable seating with a great color TV, they even have an aquarium and you can watch all the fishes swim to you and they think that you're going to feed them, it's so funny. Alexia will give you a warm welcome, April will get you set up to see Dr. Anne Hagan who will help you with whatever your teeth require. Becky will clean and make your teeth sparkle. Jessica will help you with the billing of insurance if you have it or just take your payment. Go visit and meet the wonderful people. Thanks to Alexia, Jessica, April, Becky, and Dr. Anne for taking good care of me. I have a treatment plan to keep my teeth sparkling clean. OMGGGG.... let me start by saying I love this place! I go to the one in South Austin. Dr. Hoover and her staff are the greatest! The office is nice and clean as well as the tools that are used. I know this because I know the back end and behind the scenes of a dental office. I myself, years ago, worked as a dental assistant...(SO I KNOOOOW HOW THINGS SHOULD FLOW). I had given up on trying to find a dental office due to the lack of concern and the cleanliness of the offices that I had visited. Then I found Dr. Hoover by chance. Dr. Hoover is so down-to-earth and takes her time explaining your dental plan. Me being former assistant. I already knew what my plan would be. However, Dr Hoover suggested a better way of doing my treatment plan. She even allowed me to view updated equipment. Love this Lady😘 2nd... Dawn the hygienist!!! SMH...JUST WOW!!There are no words to explain my thoughts for her. I promise you in a former life she had to be my best friend or my sister! Dawn is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and cleaned the hell outta my teeth....lol. When I was done...everytime I opened my mouth. I saw that shine sparkles you see on the cartoons. I think i even heard the"BLINNNGG" with the sparkles..😂😂😂....by nature I'm silly but u get what I'm saying. Dawn even made extra time to show me how to brush my braces correctly. I'm soooo happy I found them! Oh....before I sign off. I wanted to share this about the up front staff. A man came in with it his 7 month old baby who was awake. So of course with the baby being awake. He would need some type of assistants. The front staff all rallies to hold the baby as he completed his procedure. I'm not saying that this is a daycare for you to bring your kids and they will watch your children. I'm sure this was a by chance situation. I'm just giving another example of how friendly and nice this facility is. I could go on and on but I know you guys are tired of this long post. Dr. Hagan and her staff are amazing. She is extremely gentle (I’m a baby about numbing shots) and a perfectionist. I hated the way my front teeth looked due to stains, and she completely transformed my smile. The office is great with working with you and your schedule, and no one makes you feel rushed or not valued. I’ve even had to bring my newborn in due to sitter issues, and the accommodated me (thank you April for your help). If you need a dental office that isn’t trying to scam you on money, and preforms work you actually need while taking care of any wants you’d like this is the place for you. Also, ask them about their amazing referral system.

I'm so thankful I found this office! After not having a cleaning in seven (yes, SEVEN) years, they did a phenomenal job getting me examined, cleaned, and treated. They were also able to pull a troublesome wisdom tooth on the spot for me a few months later when it decided it was ready to make its (painful) appearance. Dr. Lane is simply outstanding at what he does. I don't think I've ever met a dentist who is as efficient and precise as he is; he also has a great sense of humor and exudes hospitality. Every hygienist I've seen has also been personable, thorough, and knowledgeable. I definitely plan on sticking with this office for many more years to come!

I'm new to Austin and hadn't found a dentist yet when About smiles was recommended to me. I only needed to have my teeth cleaned so I made an appointment. Thinking that if it didn't work out I can always find another dentist. Well things did work out and I've found a new dental home and won't be going anywhere else. What a wonderful friendly staff. They help answer all my questions and work around my crazy schedule to make my next appointments. Best, most thorough, Dentist I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Dr. Hoover did a complete workup on my teeth, gums, mouth. Gave valuable advice to me (starting Chemo) - I recommend Gretchen Hoover and her entire office staff to everyone in Round Rock, Pflugerville, and it's worth the drive from Austin.
I arrived for my appointment to replace some old fillings, clutching a foam stress ball. When Dr. Lane saw this, he asked if I had anxiety about dental procedures. In a word, YES. He offered me nitrous oxide. I’m in my 50s and no dentist has ever suggested this to me, so I have been accustomed to white-knuckling my way through fillings. Thanks to the nitrous and cranking up the volume on the Pandora 80s Alternative Hits station, I was able to unclench my muscles and let Dr Lane and Bianca finish replacing the fillings in 4 teeth. I appreciated their kindness and professionalism, and will recommend the About Smiles practice to everyone in the area.

If anyone received a bill saying it is 90 days old, call the office they will advise you that it was a billing glitch. I would have to agree with the rest of the post below, the staff is amazing. This review is pretty much about the billing. With a dual ins plan, I like to know they everyone will get it correct. After speaking with someone in regards to a strange letter received, I feel 100% better knowing this issue will work itself out. It was not the office, it was the commercial ins battling over who was primary. Payment was never received, and the office was very patient in explaining everything to me and what is expected from the insurances. I rate them a 5 and appreciate all info while this is being resolved.
I am not from Austin TX, however I moved here about a year ago and it is hard to find a good dentist office. So I happened to find About Smiles Family & Cosmetic Dentistry down came my routine cleaning. As soon as I step into the office the staff was friendly,professional and very pleasing. All the staff and to include the Dr. genuinely care about the patients. I have had two visits and I have not had any issues, in fact they have actually taken care of my needs. Overall I am very pleased and satisfied with the service they provide. They definitely know how to conduct business keeping the patients needs as a priority. I absolutely recommend this office and I will keep them as my head dentist. Best dental office I have been and best service I have received.

There was no wait time, I was taken in for X-rays, got my cleaning and the Doctor came in and saw me with no wait time in between. Absolutely the best Dentist Professionals i have ever found. I broke a tooth this morning and had to scramble to find a Dentist office that would take my insurance and get me in today to surgically extract the root and patch me up. From the moment i walked into their door I felt that every staff member their complete understood what i needed and they were going to make sure to squeeze me into their busy day. The consult was quick because the Dentist listened to what i needed and wanted. She then quickly told me all my other options without "imposing" all the other options. Together we came up with a good course of actions to take today, and for the future of my dental care. The extraction was done with out any complications and with top notch bedside manner. After the surgical extraction i told the wife "sweet heart, meet our new family dentist." We made appointments for the whole family as we have decided About Smiles are the kinda folks we can trust to take care of us as if we were members of their family.

The dentist is never thought of as a great place to go. However, it is a necessary evil in life that is part of adulting. I'm inspired to write this review because this dentist's office was actually a pleasant experience, and I was blown away by the quality of my experience. I had to go in because I had a tooth infection, and I ended up getting that tooth pulled plus a wisdom tooth on the same day. They got me in right away, and I noticed that the office was lovely and that you can drink coffee or tea while you wait. (If you're worried about your breath, they have mouthwash in the bathroom!) ;-) In the dentist's chair, I prepared myself for the torturous nightmare to begin. It never did. Surprisingly, they offered me sunglasses and a blanket. I felt like I was in a sci-fi movie with all the high-tech equipment. Dr. Nguyen and his assistant made me feel at ease, and he even joked that he was going to whisper my teeth out of my mouth! They did manage to extract the molar and a wisdom tooth with very minimal pain. I did not even need to take painkillers afterwards, which was shocking! Crystal, the hygienist, got my teeth sparkling clean. I could tell she was passionate about what she does.
Had an opportunity to visit this dentist office because of a cracked tooth emergency. Called four other dentist offices in the Round Rock area with no response or recordings. It was the Monday before Christmas and the office in Austin referred me to the Round Rock office and I got an appointment at 11 a.m. The dentist pulled my cracked tooth and saved my Chrismas holiday with my family. Professional staff and super friendly. Can't praise them enough☺
Not one of my favorite places to have to go to. But the people here are awesome. I needed to have my first crown put in. They made me feel as comfortable as possible. I even got to watch them design the crown on the computer and watch it getting made in house. I highly recommend coming here!
I believe I have found the best Dentist office in town. About smiles Family and cosmetic dentistry has by far been the best in customer care. They are kind and they are honest. All my family and friends will know where I come to get taken care of. Thanks about smiles

Today, I had my first visit with About Smiles. I'm new to Austin but I think I've already found my dentist! I came in today for a cleaning, to get some cavities filled. Dr. Mills and the whole staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. They informed me of what they were doing at every step and why they were doing it. I strongly believe that in the absence of information people often fear the worst. That's especially true for me when I visit the dentist. There are so many questions that I've had for years that they explained today without my asking.
I absolutely love this place! I was greeted with a warm welcome from the entire staff the moment I stepped in. All my questions were answered thoroughly which made my visit more comfortable. I will definitely be returning here for my dental work!
I cannot describe the gratitude I have towards Dr. Hughes and his staff! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with professionalism and friendliness! He not only did a spectacular emergency root canal and crown procedure but he made sure that I was as pain free as possible. The front desk staff was willing to help with my insurance and was informative at every turn with my dental decision making. An all around great experience and will be returning.
I just had a root canal on a "hot" molar way in the back. Dr. Kahlden took care of it in two appointments. It wasn't pleasant, but what root canal is? He did a great job. Seemed to be very thorough.
This dentist is absolutley amazing. The entire staff is extremely friendly. There doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover.... I get to see the same smiling faces every time I go. They take the time to ask about my family, including our interests. They have state of the art technology. I get to see what the doctor sees. Crowns are done in ONE visit. No more multiple visits and dealing with temporary crowns etc. I hated the dentist... the wait time does not seem any different then any other dr. office. I would strongly recommend giving this office a try!
My experience here with Dr Hoover was exactly what I was looking for when choosing a Dentist office. Dr. Hoover, her hygienist, and her nurses all had terrific bed side manner. Her staff was friendly from the day I became a patient there and ever since. I now drive over 45 minutes to her office because of the kindness and excellent service I am given as a patient. I highly recommend this office.
I was extremely nervous about getting dental work done, but Dr. Hoover was able to get me through it... I'd like to say I was at ease, but that would be a lie. I'm probably never going to be at ease with metal pokey things and drills in my mouth. I love that they were able to show me the spots they were working on with the camera on a TV screen and the full explanation of her processes, including the why. The insurance lady, Connie, was a true professional. I was given an accurate estimate and never felt like I was getting the run around. I got an appointment on a Saturday, so didn't even miss a day of work. There's really no excuse for me to not go to the dentist now. I will be back in 6 months :)
Despite having to have a re-do on a route canal by a different dentist, my experience was great. They got me in the very next day after calling in with a toothache. The staff was the best I've experienced in a long time & Dr. Hughes took great care of me.
Dr. Hoover is the BEST dentist I could ever have. The first time I saw her I literally was shaking with fear. He COMPLETELY, made me feel at ease, relaxed and now I'm calm if I have to go see her. Also, best of all, she's given me something I hadn't had in YEARS...a BEAUTIFUL Smile. I love her for that !!!!! Also, the staff is warm and very attentive .
I've been seeing Dr. Hoover for over a year now and she's FANTASTIC. I'm absolutely terrified of dental work but I've had nothing but stellar experiences here and Dr. Hoover works with plenty of patients who have my same fear and she strives to create a pain-free, pleasant, relaxing experience. My most recent experience is as follow: I had 5 cavities. I do not do well with dental work. Dr. Hoover offers "sleep dentistry" which entails providing the patient with a soothing sleep agent and laughing gas so that they are unaware of the work being done. We scheduled a time for me to come in and have all 5 filled and do a periodontal cleaning while I was knocked out. The day arrives and I show up and am handed a little blue pill. Immediately, my anxiety kicks in and I start freaking out. The staff was so lovely and calming and sweet, but I panicked and ran. Yep, I left. Even though it was a 2+ hr appointment that had been blocked off for me. Was I mistreated? Was I overcharged? Was I made to feel humiliated? No. They rescheduled me for a week later and even got me the sleeping pill prescription so I could take it the night before to begin relaxing then and wake up already in a better state of mind. When I arrived for my 2nd appointment, everyone was so kind and warm and no-one made me feel like crap for what had happened the week before. The whole procedure went off without a hitch. Dr. Hoover is a gem of a human being - she's all smiles, super warm, listens to your fears/concerns, tells it straight. I felt no pain during my procedure, they let me listen to my iPod and had the TV showing How I Met Your Mother. My numbness wore off within a few hours and I felt right as rain. If you have any fears about dental work - Dr. Hoover is the dentist for you. A staff of really sweet, warm people works at the office and they are all willing to work with you to make things happen.
After going to the same dentist for 20 years in Houston, then moving to Austin, I had trouble finding a dentist I could trust. I have had a couple of bad experiences at different dentists around Austin, but when I visited Dr. Hoover's office all of my worries were put to rest. It is a nice, clean office, with updated equipment. The staff is very professional and Dr. Hoover is very friendly. They will not try to talk you into anything you don't need, and want your experience to be as positive as possible. The hygenists are very gentle during cleaning, and Dr. Hoover is gentle during the exam as well. Glad I finally found a good dentist in Austin!!

Bought the groupon for an exam, X-rays, and cleaning. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I liked the digital X-rays and picture that were shown to me immediately on the screen to discuss my treatment plan. Saturday hours are also great for those of us that work M-F. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars from me was because the have a rather small waiting room.
I went here for a cleaning since I got a groupon, and I was super impressed. It's a busy place, but I waited no more than 2 minutes before I was ushered back into a private room for my cleaning. I opted out of x-rays and went for just the cleaning. LINDA was my hygienist, and she was AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend asking for her. She's had many years of experience and it shows in her gentle, yet detailed work. She took plenty of time to hand-clean my teeth (didn't use the pesky loud ultrasonic doodad) and was very thorough. She was pleasant to talk to, and very knowledgable. The doctor came in later to check on the work and they took detailed pictures of my teeth to show me up on a screen which showed my old metal fillings from when I was a kid. They suggested I eventually replace them (metal not healthy, yet they were still solid), but I never felt pressured to do this. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or pressured into services I couldn't afford/need. I will definitely return.
