Joe K. Smith, DDS, FAGD
Dr. Joe K. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Baylor University then his doctorate in dental surgery degree at Baylor University in Dallas. After graduation, he received additional training through the US Army Dental Corps as a dental officer.
Dr. Smith has practiced general and family dentistry, serving 40-plus years on the staff of both Seton and Brackenridge Hospitals. He is a longtime member of the American Dental Association (ADA), and he achieved fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). The Texas Dental Association (TDA) presented Dr. Smith the Good Fellows Award, and he has been chosen by his peers as "Texas Super Dentist" in Texas Monthly magazine, as well. Trained and board-certified to offer sedation dentistry for your comfort, Dr. Smith is committed to excellent clinical care and service. He has taken extensive coursework in implant restoration and is working on the requirements for mastership in the AGD.
Dr. Smith is a native Texan who thoroughly enjoys ranching and fishing with wife, Peggy, and his two grandsons (both Texas A&M graduates). He is an Order of the Arrow member with the Boy Scouts of America. A skilled artisan, Dr. Smith has many creative outlets, including, lapidary, which involves the formation of gemstones for jewelry and other decorative items. Dr. Smith's favorite aspect of dentistry involves combining his passion for art and science and witnessing the instant transformation that results from a job well done.
Francys Day, DDS
Dr. Day planned to become an architect before entering dentistry. She combines her eye for symmetry and artistry with medical expertise to create beautiful, functional smiles. Dr. Day works with one of the finest dental lab ceramists in Texas, and their cooperative effort yields extraordinary prosthetics and restorations. Cosmetic dentistry is her passion, and many satisfied patients can testify to the quality of her work.
Dr. Day grew up in Victoria, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. In 1984, she received her doctorate in dental surgery from the UT Dental Branch in Houston. From 1984 to 2006, Dr. Day practiced in North Texas until she moved to Austin to live closer to her family. Dr. Day and her husband, Paul, have three children.
Continuing education is a priority for Dr. Day, and she has completed courses with the Columbia University School of Dentistry and the Nash Dental Institute of Charlotte. Her professional memberships include the National Dental Network Continuing Education Team, American Dental Association, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and Texas Dental Association. In her free time, Dr. Day likes going to church, playing the piano, and taking nature walks.
Lynidean Pohorelsky, Hygiene Coordinator & Dental Assistant
With over 37 years experience in the industry, Lynidean brings knowledge and dedication to her role in our practice. Lynidean loves the challenging, fast-paced environment in our Austin dental office. Her joy comes from helping patients develop and maintain oral health for improved quality of life. She and Jimmy, her husband, have two children and four grandchildren. Lynidean’s hobbies include fishing, hunting, and gambling.
Megan Macy, Dental Hygienist
For 10 years, Megan has worked as dental hygienist. She came to our practice three years ago, and her commitment to help patients achieve healthy smiles in a caring and safe environment make her an invaluable asset. She holds a BS in dental hygiene, as well as a BA in business. Megan offers practical patient education on the importance and logistics of maintaining optimal oral health. She loves meeting new patients and catching up with those she’s known since she joined our team.
